THE ORIGIN
It all began in 1986 with Mr. Pirro Ruco’s vision, marked by the creation of the 9th Congress emblem and a custom pantograph machine. By 1990, Albania’s first gold exhibition established PIRRO’s reputation, leading to prestigious commissions.
The launch of Albania’s first gold laboratory in 1994-95, backed by German investment, solidified Pirro’s place in luxury jewelry. Artistic Jewellery Pirro opened its doors, offering a dedicated space to showcase the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship.
By 1996-97, the brand gained national recognition for crafting presidential medals, further solidifying its status as a leader in fine jewelry and artisanal excellence.
Pirro Ruço’s inspiration to create watches began in 2014 during his first visit to Baselworld, the world’s leading watch fair. The experience left him in awe, surrounded by an incredible display of creativity and innovation. “I never imagined there could be so many passionate, creative people under one roof,” he recalled. It was at this moment that he asked his daughter, Alba, “Have I done everything I can with jewelry so far?” This question sparked a new dream: To create a timepiece that would capture the essence of his artistry in a way never seen before.
Determined to push his craft further, Ruço set out to explore the world of watchmaking, blending his signature style with the intricate world of horology. He envisioned a watch that would not only reflect his Albanian heritage but also incorporate the detailed craftsmanship and cultural elements that defined his jewelry pieces. This led to the creation of a watch that would embody his love for art, history, and innovation “Primordial Passion” ; along the 5 years of intensive work for this piece, he was also working on another watch known as “The Brand Watch” determining together a new chapter in Pirro’s legacy.
